19 of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been won on hard courts

A resurgent Medvedev won his first title for nearly 30 months with a win over opponent Moutet in the tournament final.

The Russian, a former world number one, has experienced a challenging period, achieving just a single victory at the major tournaments and suffering a meltdown at the US Open.

His unpredictability on the professional circuit - and issues with his serve in specific - caused him falling of the top ten and eventually separating with former coach Gilles Cervara.

Now training with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently progressed in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought three-set triumph over Frenchman Moutet.

This marks his first championship after the Rome competition and initial on a hard surface since spring of 2023.

Victory also signifies he has achieved 21 titles at twenty-one distinct competitions.

"For the first time I'm at a tournament with my both daughters together, so to win a title is particularly special," stated tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in dedication of my younger daughter her name, because the first title I won when my child my daughter was born was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had failed in his last six finals, including in the German tournament previously this season.

Medvedev's retrieving strategy and frequent reactions on the playing surface had caused some to question if his capacity to perform at the top level was concluded.

Yet the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the past month, attempting to approach the net and compete assertively, reinforced by an improved service.

Medvedev fought back from a break down in the opening set against the tricky Moutet, winning 4 of the final five exchanges to gain the advantage.

The competitors exchanged break points in the middle set before the challenger, bidding for his first professional victory, seized the initiative to force a decider.

The opponent defended 4 early break points in a competitive third set before the champion broke to fifteen to secure the win.

Suitably, he earned the title with a shot at the net, with the Frenchman unable to control a shot after a lengthy match.
